The Metaphor

This painting is described by Bruce as a metaphor for his own life. The Elephant and the Twin-Tailed Mermaid, two unlikely lovers from two very different worlds but both harmed and injured mentally, physically and spiritually by their lives so far, head into the high reaches of the Antiplano where they hope for a happy future together. This, Bruce explains, is a metaphor for how we all get injured yet we have this capacity, this determination to survive and keep on moving and keep on going.
